As we enter the Advent season, the Butler Catholic School community is mindful of the values of hope, peace, joy, and love represented by the candles of the Advent wreath.
Students recently put the spirit of Advent into action by participating in a school-wide food drive that resulted in over 1,200 food items being collected!
Organized by members of BCS Student Council, staff and students worked together to spread the word and find donations for the St. Vincent de Paul Foodbank. In order to raise as much awareness and as many items as possible, grades competed against each other to collect the most donations.
Eighth grade “won” the challenge by bringing in 317 items, and fourth grade came in second place by collection 249! Student Council then gathered and boxed everything to donate to St. Vincent de Paul, just in time for Thanksgiving.
Thank you to everyone who donated, and to our Student Council students for spearheading a wonderful drive!
