This year at Butler Catholic School, we’ve made an effort to bring back special speaker visits and field trips! These provide students with opportunities to learn outside the classroom setting, giving them real-life experiences with memorable lessons and opportunities.
Congratulations to Brendan Eicher on being named a Carson Scholar! The Carson Scholars Fund awards $1,000 college scholarships to students in grades 4-11 who excel academically and are dedicated to serving their communities. Only one student per school can receive this award each year. The recipients of this award are invited to a banquet in which they receive recognition for their accomplishments with a medal and a $1,000 scholarship for college from Dr. Benjamin Carson and his wife, Mrs. Candy Carson. Brendan was honored to have been selected to receive such an amazing award and recognition for his accomplishments.
Second semester science fairs are a tradition at Butler Catholic School. This year, presentations took place in January and April, with students sharing their investigations and discoveries in two different groups.
One of the gifts of going to school at Butler Catholic is having the chance to spend time in the BCS Garden. Thanks to a recent run of warm weather, students and faculty have been able to get outside and explore!

The Periodic Table of Elements has come alive at Butler Catholic School! Thanks to the Nancy Larson Science series adopted by BCS during the 2021-22 school year, students are more engaged than ever when it comes classroom science lessons.
Butler Catholic School students celebrated critical thinking and teamwork during Catholic Schools Week with a school-wide STEM project Feb. 1! Based on the German fairy tale “Hansel and Gretel,” students were randomly assigned to groups to work together and help Hansel and Gretel capture the witch.
Butler Catholic School had an incredible start to Catholic Schools Week Jan. 29! Students and teachers celebrated the annual event with a cereal drive—and collected over 500 boxes!
