For most of our students at Butler Catholic School, the first day of the 2023-24 school year was Aug. 24. But we had the chance to celebrate other “first days” Sept. 6 and 7—when our three- and four-year-old preschoolers attended class for the first time!
Students in Tonya Briggs’ and Shannon Dorcy’s preschool classrooms are getting to see what BCS is all about. From learning how to be away from home during the day to making new friends, our youngest Saints are gearing up for a dino-mite time as students!
As they learn about numbers, words, art, music, and prayers, we can’t wait to help them develop their faith and provide them with opportunities to learn new skills. With Mrs. Briggs and Mrs. Dorcy leading the charge, the BCS family is ready to help our newest students have an adven-saurus year at school!
Preschool is key to building a strong academic foundation for successful students. Since broadening our early childhood programming in 2021 to offer families an all-new 5-day 4-year-old preschool class, BCS has seen many families take advantage of our expanded approach to learning. Offering additional days in the classroom helps students retain more information faster, making room for new academic experiences that prepare them for kindergarten.
As we move into a new school year, it’s important to remember BCS has a rolling admissions policy and there are still some seats open in our preschool and kindergarten classes. To discover the difference a BCS education makes, please contact the school at 724-285-4276!
