With a new school year comes a new Student Council at Butler Catholic School! It’s a time-honored tradition at BCS that students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade campaign at the start of the fall semester for various offices and representative positions, which they will hold through the end of the year.
This year, students running for office posted campaign fliers and engaged voters throughout the school in the spirit of democracy!
“The race was very exciting and a little nerve-racking,” noted eighth grader Kamryn Martin, who was elected president of Student Council. “All of the candidates were very qualified and were incredible competitors.”
Over the last few weeks, students have been voting on president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer positions. Representatives were also elected to assist with Student Council projects and spreading information to other grades throughout the year.
As the new Student Council leader, Kamryn explained she’s excited to buckle down and start working on behalf of students in all grade levels.
“I am very eager to get to work with our amazing group of officers and homeroom representatives,” Kamryn said. “I think we have a great year ahead of us.”
We’re proud of all our students who chose to run and congratulate the following elected student body officials!
