The second annual Butler Catholic School Summer Garden Camp adventures continue!
Students enrolled in the camp have recently taken part in some exciting field trips. Among their travels was a visit to Josh and Krissy Wissinger’s apiary, where campers learned about bees and harvesting honey.
Campers also went to Crighton Farm, where they played with farm animals, picked flowers, and pulled over 1,500 onions that were grown specifically for BCS and will be used in our cafeteria during the new school year!
A special visit to Harvey's Sweet Shoppe gave campers the chance to decorate flower cookies and talk to BCS alumna and bakery owner Brittany Harvey!
One of the many great things about Summer Garden Camp is campers get to take home the projects they're working on. Campers made magnets by hand by cutting out horticultural photos from seed magazines and gluing them to glass pebbles! Students have also been working on flower booklets, pillows, stained glass jars, and other crafts that reflect what they've been learning about nature and gardening.
