“My goal for all grade levels is to present a program where every child will be exposed to all aspects of an exciting, beneficial, physical education program.”
Personal and Professional Background
I have been teaching the Physical Education Program at Butler Catholic School the past 14 years. I am a retired Physical Education teacher from the Pittsburgh Public Schools residing in Butler. I graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health, and earned my Master’s Degree in Physical Education from the University of Pittsburgh. I have been teaching Physical Education for over 40 years. The majority of that time was at Schenley High School in Pittsburgh, where I was the head men’s basketball and tennis coach.
Besides teaching at Butler Catholic, I also work part time at Cranberry Parks and Recreation as a site supervisor and run co-ed basketball camps.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time at my cottage in Erie, fishing, and relaxing. I like movies, music, following sports, and generally enjoying the sunshine whenever possible. I am a member of All Saints Parish in Butler and my favorite prayer is the Hail Mary.
What Do You Feel Makes Butler Catholic Special?
I feel very fortunate to be teaching at BCS because the staff and the students are so friendly and hard working. I really enjoy teaching, and the kids are great! Helping students reach their fullest potential in Physical Education classes and learning about their health gives them an informed head start on their tomorrows. Butler Catholic is a great environment to achieve these goals.
I look forward to Butler Catholic School continuing to grow in numbers and to keep their great tradition going of academic excellence and faith formation ongoing.
