Personal and Professional Background
I was born and raised in Butler and attended Butler Catholic School for seven years. I graduated magna cum laude from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Secondary English and Education. This is my eighth year teaching at Butler Catholic School and I am currently teaching English, Literature, Spelling, and Reading to grades five through eight.

I was inspired to become a teacher after I learned from Dr. Watkins at Saint Francis University that literature and grammar can be fun; it’s what you make of it and how you present it! I also love helping kids. I discovered this when I starting coaching track for the first time in 2009. I continue to coach the varsity sprinters at Butler High School. Teaching is a perfect fit for me.

I am a member of All Saints Parish in Butler, and my favorite prayer is Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel. The world can be a grim place at times, and this prayer seems to help give me the strength and courage to face each day.

Outside the classroom, Fantasy Football keeps me busy throughout the better part of the year and, yes, that includes the off-season because that is where championship teams are made! I also love biking the trails in Emlenton, as well as reading for hours on end.

Butler Catholic is such a special place because of the wonderful sense of community between the students, staff, and parents.
