“I believe that every child has the ability to learn and grow to his/her maximum potential. It is my role as the educator to exhaust all resources to meet the individual needs of each student. In doing so, I am helping to shape life-long learners who will use their God-given abilities to benefit society.”
Personal and Professional Background
This is my 12th year teaching at Butler Catholic School. I teach literature and English to grades six through eight. I graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Elementary Education. I earned my Master of Arts Degree in English Literature from Slippery Rock University, also graduating summa cum laude. While earning my Master’s, I took and passed the PRAXIS exam to become certified to teach Secondary English.
I have been married for seventeen years to my high school sweetheart. In our years of marriage, we have been blessed with the gift of our fifteen-year-old son, William. William is the third generation of Boosel men to graduate from BCS. He was exceptionally proud to carry on what has become a family tradition. My family attends All Saints Parish of Butler, and my favorite prayer is the Hail Holy Queen because the words of the Hail Holy Queen never fail to comfort and re-energize me in a time of great need.
When I am not teaching, my absolute favorite hobby is reading. I love reading classic literature and historical fiction. When I am not reading, I am spending time with my husband and son, gardening, or watching movies.
What Do You Feel Makes Butler Catholic Special?
I love our school family. The teachers, staff, students, and families all work together to foster a love of education and teaching, and modeling gospel values.
